Hello! My name is Timmy and I would like to help you with your studies. At the University of Alabama, I earned a Master of Science degree in astrophysics and a Bachelor of Science in physics with minors in astronomy and liberal arts. Other fields I took interest in includes philosophy, literature, and education. While at the University, I taught in several settings, including high school and college aged students. I have experience in front of classes at both levels, and have taught physics, astronomy and an introductory liberal arts class at The University of Alabama. I do my best to make sure students understand my material and make myself available when students need additional instruction outside of normal class hours. Patience and empathy are important virtues to have while teaching; no two students learn the same way and outside factors can heavily influence how successful a student can be.

Having been a teacher, I have a good idea of what most teachers try to focus on and try to apply that understanding while tutoring. My tutoring experience also includes high school and college students. I have had one-on-one and small group settings, tutoring all math levels up through calculus, introductory physics, all levels of astronomy and even a computer science course or two. While tutoring, it is important to understand how a student learns and adjust teaching styles accordingly.

Additionally, I consider myself a life-long learner and am well versed in philosophy, general science, astrophysics, the Microsoft suite and programming.

Math requires patience and a method that the students understands. I will do my absolute best to relate concepts to students in terms that works for them.

Science is my bread and butter. Everything around us can be related to science in one way or another. I focused on physics and astronomy, but my true passion is astronomy. I love passing my knowledge on, and applying astronomical principals to everyday life.

My interests outside of academia includes ultimate frisbee, college football, hockey and taking my puppy to the dog park.

I look forward to the opportunity to helping anyone learn about the universe or the world around us.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I am pretty flexible and will do my absolute best to make sure all my students are satisfied.
