About Christine

My name is Christine, and I have been teaching for 22 years. I have taught regular education, including 7th grade math and science, for 4 years, and have been teaching moderate needs special education for the remaining 18 years. I have taught in the public schools in Englewood and Jeffco, and am familiar with the resources they use for reading, writing and math.

I have been trained in the Wilson Reading Program which was developed for people with dyslexia. I have a passion for students with severe reading problems. I know how to assess them to find out what the core issue is, and I have the resources to help them at their level.

I have a family of my own, so I am aware of budget and time constraints. I am prompt, flexible, and understand how a schedule is only a plan. I can come to your house or we can use a quiet space at my house.

I am comfortable teaching any grade from Kindergarten to 8th graders.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
