Colorado School of Mines (Economics)
Hi my name is Ana. I graduated with Honors from Colorado School of Mines in December of 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. During the last one and a half years of college I had a job as a math tutor, tutoring all levels from the very basic all the way up to Calculus and Differential Equations. During this time I also earned a Tutor Certification from the College Reading & Learning Association which allowed to me to learn effective tutoring methods.
Since graduation I have done volunteering tutoring. My focus is on math, but I also tutor economics and Spanish (I am a native speaker).
I hope you will consider me for your tutoring needs!

My son had his first session with Ana on Algebra 1. As a parent, she is punctual and is flexible with working around your schedule. As for my son, he enjoyed working with her. He said she was easy to understand and her lessons were very helpful! She showed him various ways to solve a problem and techniques to help him during test taking time.
We are looking forward to our next session with her! Thanks Ana!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a degree from Colorado School of Mines where I took many math classes including Calculus for Engineers I, II & II, Differential Equations, Math for economics, and linear algebra. During the last few semesters of college I had a job tutoring all levels of math from basic additional and subtraction all the way to differential equations. I also earned a tutor certification while I was employed as a math tutor that allowed me to develop more effective tutoring methods in order to better help students.

I was born in Mexico and came to the United States as a young girl and thus I am fluent in both Spanish and English. In High School I took AP Spanish so I am aware of what a lot of Americans have to do to learn the language. After college I spent sometime studying in a university in Mexico where I perfected my Spanish. In the past I have tutored several friends/students in Spanish.
