University of Wisconsin - Madison, WI (Master's)
I am an experienced math and science teacher. Math subjects taught include remedial math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and advanced algebra. Science subjects taught include physical science and chemistry. I also taught computer science as a graduate student. I have training and experience in preparing students to take GED, ACT and SAT exams. My approach to teaching based on an inquiry method, which gets students involved in their own learning as opposed to lecturing the students, which tends to be one way communication. I challenge the student to understand how to get the answer to a problem, not just what is the answer. I question and challenge the student, to help them become more involved in their learning and better recognize their understanding of what they do know and what they need to learn.

David C. has been a lifesaver for our son. Algebra has been so difficult for him. There is now light and hope to graduate high school. He gets a great deal done in the time allowed without being pushy. Always punctual and is flexible when needed. We would recommend him when quadratic equations have become a stumbling block!
David helped me study specific sections for the ASVAB test and he was very knowledgeable with the subject. He was very patient and has helped me prepare for the test and I'm confident I'll have an great score. Definitely recommend him as a tutor.
David takes his time and is patient and systematic in his approach in tutoring our son for ACT, Algebra 2 and science. He is positive and encouraging in his interactions.
Montana felt very comfortable with David and feels as though he is going to be a big help to her with her math homework as well as with ACT prep. She can already tell that he is pushing her to work harder than she has before and she is beginning to feel more comfortable with math.
My daughter was only getting a 15 point average on her science and math ACT segments. Now she is at 31. Thanks so much!
Mr. David was very professional, patient, kind and understanding with me. I personally recommend Mr. David for those looking for the aforementioned qualities in an instructor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
