Hello, I'm Val! I am a retired science teacher of 18 years with current valid certification. Twelve of these years were spent teaching Physical Science, Chemistry and Physics in the high school classroom while six of these years were spent teaching Chemistry, Geology and Environmental Science at the community college level. I love science but also understand its challenges.
It is my goal to provide students the foundation skills they need to not only succeed in the sciences but also gain an appreciation for its real world applications. I believe it is these real world connections that inspire students to want to learn more about the sciences. In addition, I structure lessons to develop students critical thinking skills. A student with good critical thinking skills has the ability to succeed in any classroom. I encourage positive study habits and help students identify and practice these habits so that they can incorporate these practices outside the tutoring environment. I look forward to hearing from you and scheduling our first lesson!

Having taught at both the high school and college levels I have a thorough understanding of what students need to know in order to move on to the next level. My undergraduate work in Animal and Veterinary Sciences exposed me to a wide array of biology and chemistry. Pursuing a passion for geology led me to reinforce my content knowledge in this area through graduate level coursework through Montana State University.

I look forward to passing along tips and tricks to help make your science experience more manageable! Contact me to learn more and schedule a lesson.
