All too often classroom teachers shunt their students through a pure textbook-oriented course without once having them whiff the adventurous philosophy, the quirky dreams, and the creative drive that animates research in the real world. The romance of science is one of the best-kept secrets in education today. True science is often a brain boggling, lump in the throat experience.
Over the years I have set up/established many innovative, science programs, ranging from student archeological digs, summer geology-backpacking trip in the Rockies, to an island-based coral reef expedition on Bermuda.
I've also written several best selling science lab books and field guides for middle school students where my students and their parents helped me uncover unusual American geological and archeological sites.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a BA in Anthropology/Human Biology, with a MA from Oxford I did 4 years of archeological/geological field work on Majorca. Taught / Tutored Middle and High School Geology for 25 years. I developed/led an island / geology summer field course on Bermuda for 20 years--we explored caves, analyzed stalactite formation (varves), growth patterns and more.
