Colorado State University (Art Education)
The day I began teaching was the day my first child was born. I haven't stopped teaching since that day. I began my formal training at Aims Commiunity College in a pursuit of a certificate in Early Chlldhood Education and went on to CSU to obtain my BA in Art Education grades K-12. I have been in many classroom settings as an art teacher at an elementary school and a junior high school in Greeley, CO. I have also taught English as a Second Language and At Risk students. I have been a substitute teacher for the past two years and have been in every classroom taught at the public school level. I am well aware of where students should be within their grade and age. The Art Club at Christa McAuliffe Elementary School was initiated by myself in 1994 when I was the art teacher there. I planned and implemented the program with the support of the school principal. Many of my art students won art contests that I entered their work in around Greeley, CO, including a first place award from the Greeley Tribune for a comic strip.
I am employed at the Weld Central School District, Thompson Valley School District and Johnstown School District as a substitute teacher. I can provide contacts to verify my status as a teacher within these districts.
I have always enjoyed helping the students that need the most help. The experience that I have working with the underprivileged and the students that don't speak English was very rewarding. In my substitute experience I have volunteered to work in the Special Needs and English as a Second Language classrooms.
I have an Art degree in Painting from Colorado State University. Many of the courses were Art History based and the hands on classes often referred to the masters. My hobby has become painting landscapes and flowers.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a BA in Art Education. I have taught students in both the public and private sectors. I implemented and taught an art class for a municipal recreation department.
My concentration in Art Education was painting and I have continued to pursue painting techniques.
