I'm Andy, a Colorado native. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in pre-medical studies. I have more than adequate expertise to tutor both math and sciences of all kinds. I have had a true passion for science and mathematics ever since grade school.
I began tutoring by helping other students in my high school classes. In college, I tutored other students in math, physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering at the University of Texas at Austin which is one of the top ten colleges in the nation.
I prefer one-on-one tutoring and enjoy engaging my students with fun and challenging math problems. Math can be intimidating to many students so I keep the tutoring fun and think it gets better results. I like to apply math to real world situations to allow my students to fully understand the relevance and necessity of knowing and using math in their everyday lives.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading books, mountain biking and hiking.

My tutoring style is very flexible. I am always interested in trying new methods of memorization and logic and appreciate that everyone learns differently. My favorite subjects to tutor are the early levels of math such as algebra, geometry and trigonometry because it is so important to have a strong foundation of these skills. I also enjoy tutoring the upper levels of mathematics such as calculus, statistics and differential equations.
Not all students like math, but a good math tutor has the power to change that. I enjoy helping students who have traditionally struggled with math begin to build confidence in their skills.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I want to make learning math fun. Math can be intimidating but it doesn't need to be.
I took 5 years of math in high school which included algebra 1, algebra 2, trigonometry, geometry, calculus, physics, chemistry, and biology.
I then went to college at the University of Texas, at Austin where I took a 5 year program of mechanical engineering, math and pre-medical. The math included calculus, and differential equations.
I can teach algebra, complex word problems, nursing pharmacology math, and engineering students.
