Hi my name is Eve and I love sharing my passion for math and science with students. I find it extremely rewarding to help students succeed in the field I am so passionate about. Graduating from Cornell with a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering and currently being a masters engineering student at the Colorado School of Mines, I have taken many advanced math and science classes, but my true passion is to teach younger students. This is mainly because without the teaching that I experienced during my elementary, middle school, and high school years, I would not be where I am today. As a tutor I hope to awaken a hidden passion in my students to instill the drive to pursue futures in math and science fields.
During my time as an upperclassman at Cornell, I led a extra help session once a week to help freshmen who were struggling with chemistry. Here I provided small lesson plans in a group setting, worked through practice problems on the board and then in groups, and even gave mock tests in order to make sure students were fully prepared for their exams. I also made myself available to my students whenever they needed extra 1-on-1 help. My experience teaching an entire group of students truly shaped my tutoring method.
There are many different approaches a tutor can take, but I firmly believe that each student is different and that not every method will work for every student. That is why I always come in with an open mind and find out how a student learns and then build a customized plan for success. My main goal is to make learning as fun and enjoyable as possible. I believe that with my strong fundamentals in math and science and my unique and personalized teaching method, I can truly motivate any student to succeed.
I am interested in tutoring all levels (middle school, high school, and college) of math, chemistry, and probability and statistics. If you are struggling in any of these areas please contact me and I'm sure we can formulate a plan to succeed together.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
