I have been a teacher and tutor of various subjects including English, Spanish, History, Language Science, and Hearing Science since 2004.
I received my TEFL/TESOL certification from Maximo Nivel in Cusco, Peru. The course is 150 hours with 12 hours of practical teaching and in-class observation. I build excellent rapport and effectively use a range of techniques to support my students. I am sensitive to their needs and goals. Also, I am extremely motivated to do my best work at all times, and to continue my growth as a professional teacher.
I am effective and experienced with a huge range of ages - from second grade Spanish learners to the elderly. I am also effective in a wide range of subjects - from the most simplistic to the very theoretical and complex. For example, I have instructed elders with hearing loss in effective and simple communication techniques that will support their daily life. I have also taught undergraduate laboratory classes in Psychoacoustics, using real-life tasks to illustrate the mechanisms of sound and hearing. However, regardless of the subject I'm leading, my strongest motivation is to support learners' goals and success.
I am driven to support others through teaching the English language with a focus on communicative skills. It is my honor to share my native language with you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
