Confidence is one of the most important aspects of academic achievement. I build student confidence by asking questions and creating a scaffold for students to learn with. This formula encourages students to take an active role in their learning. When students find the answers themselves, they are much more likely to remember those answers when they need them, be it on the ACT or in college courses. One of the best things about this method is it can be used even after the student is finished with tutoring.

I have developed and used this method from nearly 3 years of working with others to improve performance. I was the scholarship chairman for my fraternity during my time at Colorado School of Mines and held scholarship sessions and workshops to encourage achievement. I moved on to work as a Teacher's Assistant for Thermodynamics, Mass Transfer, and Biomedical Engineering. I would hold office hours and address individual student concerns. I earned my B.S. in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering in 2015.

Following graduation I became a tutor for Right On Learning at Jefferson Jr./Sr. High School. I loved working with the students there, and learned how to be the best tutor. I was quickly recognized for my efforts, and was brought on to develop a project to teach underprivileged kids from Las Animas.

I love tutoring, not only because I get to see the moment when that "lightbulb" shines in a student's eyes, but also because I get to learn all kinds of things from them!

college chemistry

Dillon was very helpful in suggesting ways to better organize my chemistry lab report. He is likable and figures out simple ways to explain difficult concepts.

Very patient, knows statistics and how to explain concepts.

Dillon is great at teaching statistical concepts and how formulas are used. I wish I would have known about him at the start of my class. He's better at teaching stats than my college professor. I would highly recommend him!

Patient, super nice, and very knowledgeable.

He was very patient and would ask questions to make sure you’re learning the material. Doesn’t just teach you how to do it but helps you understand why. He helped me prepare for a test and I got an A because of him. He shows you different ways to do things and would help you approach a problem differently if one way doesn't work with you. Would recommend!

Haven’t had a math course in a while? Use Dillon!

I was an adult student taking an accelerated (8 week) Calculus II course and having a lot of difficulty. My first quiz got just 12% out of 100%. I had not taken a math course in over 10 years. I decided I needed a tutor and found Dillon on Wyzant. He is a professional and friendly young man. He absolutely loves math/science and that enthusiasm comes through in his tutoring sessions. He is very relatable and once he understands how you view a problem, he will tailor his tutoring to terms you’ll understand. I did not feel embarrassed asking basic algebra or geometry questions. I didn’t just memorize formulas, Dillon helped me to understand the reasoning behind them. He was available at very short notice. For example, I would message him the night before a quiz and he’d arrange to meet me the next morning before the quiz. I recommend him highly to all adults returning to school. He sincerely wants you to succeed and will work with you to figure out how best to get this accomplished. The confidence he instills in you is priceless. I completed Calculus II with a B+ thanks to Dillon.

Excellent tutor

We tried numerous tutors to help with AP Calculus B/C and none came close to Dillon. He knows the material well and has the ability to get the information across to his students. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. We plan to use him again.

Knowledgeable and Quick response

I enjoyed working with Dillon. He was able to help me with my assignment and went over each topic related to Excel Microsoft. He was very helpful, I definitely plan to use his service in the future and I highly recommend him. He was very attentive, patient and responsive. Great working with you Dillon!

The secret is out. Dillon is a great tutor.

Tutored our son who is heading to a top university and now is tutoring our daughter. Dillon makes our kids confident in math, something I could never do as a parent.

Extremely helpful in the realm of statistics

I am a poor student of statistics, with Dillon's help I left the lesson more comfortable with the material and infinitely more prepared for my statistics class.
