About Martin

I have been tutoring for many years now. I have been a TA for laboratories and recitations in several engineering and physics courses. I like being able to help students master the concepts they struggle with and achieve their academic goals in a student-oriented and friendly environment.
I am very passionate about teaching and also very patient. I believe every student has a unique way of learning and there is no much sense in sticking to traditional methods when they don't work.

I am a graduate student in Physics, working towards my PhD in nanomagnetism. I work mainly with computer simulations and also have done some experiments, mainly with semiconductors.

Whether your goal is to catch up or excel in school, I can help you get there.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

From basic rules of exponents, fractions, quadratics and factorization to logarithms and more advanced topics, I can certainly help you improve your algebra skills and excel your class. I have Ph.D. in Physics and I am passionate about Math and Science. I have been tutoring algebra for many years and know the tricks and the approaches that work.

Calculus

Limits, derivatives or integrals? I got you covered. I have many years of experience helping students get through these advanced topics. My approach is tailored to each student's needs and strengths. You can expect a patient tutor who will challenge you and help you understand the material.

Geometry

It's all about visualizing it, don't let geometry lower your GPA. I have tutored geometry at high school and college (analytical geometry) levels helping students go from the basic concepts such as angles and planes to more advanced topics.

GRE

I have been helping students prepare for the quantitative part of the GRE for many years. As an instructor for a GRE prep course at Colorado State University and through private tutoring. It's not only about knowing the material but also the tricks and strategies to do well on the test. I can definitely help you sharpen your skills and boost your score.

Physics

No more struggling with Physics, through many years of experience working with students at the high school and college level I have found some of the most efficient techniques to teach and learn Physics. I use an approach that combines the conceptual and mathematical aspects in a simple way and helps students get the confidence they need.
