The University of Puget Sound (Biochemistry)
I just moved to Fort Collins after graduating from the University of Puget (UPS) Sound in Tacoma, WA. I got my bachelor of science in Biochemistry and a minor in math. I am interested in doing research in the biology or chemistry fields. While in school, I was a teachers assistant for introductory chemistry labs for during my sophomore year at UPS. That was really fun and I look forward to helping people learn about the subjects I enjoy!
I do not have any tutor experience, but I have my class notes and textbooks that I can reference. I am interested in tutoring because I want to help people in the subjects that I enjoy! I believe I could apply the skills and knowledge learned during my undergraduate career to make it easier for other students going through school. I have taken a course in each of my listed subjects so I am likely to be quite familiar with problems or subject questions you have for me! I really enjoy learning and please send me a message if you would like help in any of my listed subjects!
I grew up in Boulder, CO and decided to move back to Colorado after college since I love being outside. Whether it be trail running, cycling, or hiking, I look forward to seeing the trails near Fort Collins and getting to know the local community.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I got my bachelor of science in Biochemistry. I took genetics my last semester of college, and I graduated 3 months ago so I remember a lot of the material. I did well in genetics class (B+) and really enjoyed the class. I did well in the lab component as well so I could help with lab questions. The material in this class built upon all my other biology classes I took, so I feel solid on a lot of the major subjects (transcription and translation, mitosis and meiosis, DNA vs RNA and functions, etc.). I still have my notes and textbook so I can reference those if need be. I don't have experience teaching in this subject, but since I just took the class I bet I could remember most major concepts. This was my favorite subject, so I really want to tutor in this!
I did well in organic (B+ both semesters) when I took it in college and really enjoyed the class. I have used my organic knowledge in a few classes I took since and I still have my notes and text book if I need to refresh my memory on anything. I was a TA for an introductory chemistry lab my sophomore year and really enjoyed helping the students. I don't have any experience tutoring, but I'm confident I could use my TA experience and my organic knowledge to help students. My plan for tutoring would be doing problem sets and working through any questions they might have.
