I am originally from New York City and grew up in a musical household. In particular, my father was a guitar tutor, band leader, musical composer and professional musician. I have incorporated some of father's techniques in guitar instruction along with my own. My dad always believed that learning to play the guitar should be both fun as well as engaging to the student. I customize my teaching methods based on the age of the student, the innate ability of the student as well as the song preferences and styles for which my student aspires to learn.I believe communication between myself and the student (as well as with the parent's of younger students) is imperative for success. I rely on humor as well as a relaxed atmosphere in my teaching methods. However, the my main objective is to see my student grow to their maximum potential regarding their guitar playing skills. I encourage my students to play their guitars often and give them assignments to work on between lessons. I generally supply all initial material used for my students.
I have had over 25 years of private guitar tutoring. I also teach group lessons as well. I have taught a wide range of ages of my students (from six years old to senior citizens).
I currently teach three group guitar classes at a recreation center (Beginner I, II and Adult) I also teach private guitar classes at a local music workshop. I am also currently conducting private lessons at the home of my students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
With over 25 years of experience in musical tutoring, I have taught private as well as group guitar classes to a wide variety of students with different innate abilities. I have also instructed a wide age range of guitar students (from six year-olds to senior citizens) and developed my own unique teaching style.
