Throughout life, learning and teaching go hand in hand. To thoroughly command a subject, be it algebra or chemistry, one must also be able to teach it. I have been fortunate to have had that rewarding opportunity. To see the light come on in my students' eyes when they grasp what had been so elusive is its own reward.

Before graduate school, I helped a high school student to get advance placement in freshman chemistry in an Ivy League school. While in graduate school I conducted question and answer sessions and graded homework for freshman chemistry. While in the workplace, I have had the chance to teach my co-workers topics in freshman chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and even algebra. In the last few years I have been a guest science lab teacher for two local elementary schools performing experiments for their Science Club. In addition, I conducted experiments with 80-100 4th and 5th graders for Sunny's annual summer camp program.
You and I will have a free consultation session to access what your learning challenge is, what your goals are, and what is the best route to master the subject. We will evaluate your progress through homework assignments and impromptu case studies. However, just as important, I also will request your frank feedback on how effective my tutoring style is working for you. I can be very flexible with the time and place of the tutoring sessions. A 24-hour cancellation policy is important for both of us, but makeup sessions can easily be arranged.
I welcome the opportunity to help you master the studies that are challenging you. Please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience.

To eventually earn a graduate degree in chemistry, I had to master an ever-increasing, complex series of advanced math courses. Mastering algebra was essential for me to become a chemist.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

Earning a graduate degree in chemistry required me to take and master inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, organic chemistry, and analytical chemistry. Freshman chemistry introduced the principles and laws on which these branches of chemistry are built. Because I had a strong foundation in basic chemistry, I succeeded in my chosen field.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

To eventually earn a graduate degree in chemistry, I had to master an ever increasing complex series of advance math courses. The high school courses of Algebra I and II were fundamental building blocks for college level courses in Calculus I and II and then Differential Equations. Mastering Algebra was essential for me to become a chemist.

Knowledgeable and friendly

Paul did really help me understand the materials in a very simple and easy way. I appreciate his help and I believe I’m doing much better in the class now because of him.

Very knowledgeable

After 1st lesson my sons passed his chemistry test. We are looking forward to working with Paul to help my son reach his goals and a passing grade in chemistry. My son is very happy with his progress so far with a subject he has great difficulty with.

Knowledgeable and kind tutor

Paul was very patient and kind to my 13 year old son. He has come to our home twice now to work with him and our son says that he has helped him understand the homework much better. We would definitely recommend him and will continue to use him , as needed!
