Illinios State University (Biochemistry)
Hello, I am a 29 year old graduate of Illinois State University. Majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Biology, I was able to build a strong background in math/science from Calculus to Organic Chemistry. I was always strong in Math and Science since grade school. I went to Metamora Township High School as well as Metamora Grade School. I went to the State Science Fair in 8th grade, and was in advanced math courses. The highest math course I took in college was Calculus 2, and took everything you could think of as far as Chemistry. Since college, I have worked all non-education oriented jobs, however I do enjoy tutoring in my free time. I like to read many History books and have mapped my genealogy to include over 4000 individuals going back to B.C. This has given me a first hand knowledge of American and European History that can not can be denied.
I enjoy helping others understand subject matter in a way that suits there needs. I utilize every tutoring opportunity as a learning experience for both us. Every person must be worked with at there own rate, and some people learn in different ways than others. That being said it helps to learn how a student learns, therefore the proper adjustments can be made to improve learning ability. I am very patient and would enjoy any opportunity where I could be applied.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
