In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I had taught Mandarin Chinese in a university southwest of China for several years before I moved to the States. I became a certified tester and instructor in Mandarin by the Chinese government in 1993. I continue to be committed in the subject I like most. My first American clients were OASIS Beijing bound tourists in 1997. Since then I have tutored many students under all circumstances, children and adults, men and women, family members, travelers and business entrepreneurs. I have also been a contributor to a few Chinese schools including Denver Int'l School, Denver Chinese School and Colorado Free University. I have worked as an editor and translator for a major Chinese newspaper in Colorado. I am currently doing a full-time bilingual job yet like to make time to give lessons like evenings or weekends. I love to go to China frequently to pick up new trends and the latest issues of China and enjoy engaging with Chinese language on the regular daily basis such as reading Chinese books and news, and conversing with families and friends in China through social media. Under my proven style of instruction my students learn fast with ease. Many of them have been incredibly improved their knowledge of beautiful Chinese and achieved their goals. Others have become functioning in more or less depth and evan fluent. Please contact me and set up a free "chat" meeting to get to know each other.
