Hi, my name is Lauren, and I was a former teacher and tutor with Kaplan Test Prep for three years.

My availability is in Mountain Time. I can offer lower rates for sessions over 1 hour!

I have an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, and a master in supply chain management.

Hi, my name is Lauren, and I was a former teacher and tutor with Kaplan Test Prep for three years.

I have an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, and a master in supply chain management.

With Kaplan, I taught SAT classes at Harvard Square and other locations in Boston. I was a private tutor for high school level exams - SAT, ACT and PSAT - as well as elementary and middle school level exams - the SSAT and ISEE. I have over 300 hours of combined teaching and tutoring experience.

I have helped several students raise their SAT scores by over 250 points to break the high 1400's and 1500's. Whether you are working towards a certain goal, or aiming for a perfect score, I am confident that I can help! I am happy to review the basics or to help you get those last few points on the most difficult math problems, reading questions, and writing questions.

I teach all sections of the exams, and I work with grades 4-12 for standardized tests.

How it works:

1-3 sessions

If you are looking for just a few hours of tutoring, most test makers publish free practice tests or exam guides that we can work with.

3+ sessions

For long-term test preparation of more than 3 sessions, we will need a book for homework and practice. I am happy to work with any book you choose. The student must have his or her own copy, and I will buy my own copy as well. If you are looking for recommendations on prep material, I would be happy to research options and to let you know which books I have worked with before.

I can teach other topics including math, engineering, and supply chain, as long as the goal is long-term learning. There should never be an expectation that we will complete homework together during a session or that I will check your answers.

I taught SAT in-person classes for Kaplan in Harvard Square, the suburbs of Boston, and (after moving to Denver) in Denver Public Schools. I have three years of experience as an SAT Math tutor with Kaplan Test Prep. I scored in the 99th percentile on my own SAT and went on to earn an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon, then a master's in supply chain management from MIT. The SAT writing section tests rules of grammar and organization. I am familiar with all concepts tested and understand what to look for in correct answers. I have three years of experience teaching and tutoring the SAT writing section.

Currently looking for new students!!! I work with SSAT students for the Lower, Middle, and Upper Level exams. While my background is in engineering, I enjoy teaching all sections of the test. I have formal training to tutor for the SSAT Verbal and Reading sections, as well as the SSAT Writing Sample. Of course, I also teach content and strategies for the Quantitative sections, and I can offer efficient approaches to solve problems on the math sections. I am a former Kaplan Test Prep tutor with over three years of experience tutoring middle school and high school math, writing, reading, science, and essay composition. I have an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, a masters in supply chain management, and I am a licensed engineer.

My daughter loved working with Lauren. She is very knowledgeable and full of great tips for how to take standardized tests. Lauren helped to fill the gaps that my daughter had in math and taught in a way that made it easy to understand. She was also very flexible with my daughter's school and swim schedule. After working with Lauren, my daughter felt more confident going into the tests, and her SSAT scores went up 30 percentile points. Look forward to working with Lauren again when my daughter preps for the SAT in a few years.

Act prep

Lauren reviewed all subjects on the act with my Son and provided him with great feed back and useful tips to help him prepare for taking the ACT. She sent him a detailed outline of what was covered along with the tips in writing which is very useful for a kid with ADHD as he would have struggled to remember everything. She also provided him some math problem she wanted him to work on prior to the next lesson
