About Chris

Bio

I tutored throughout my undergrad, where I focused on high school math and physics. Now I teach math, robotics, and engineering at the high school level. I enjoy teaching, but I really enjoy the one-on-one time with students, either as a tutor or during office hours. I believe it's there where I make the most impact for my students.

Outside of teaching, in my spare time I bike and rock climb. Aside from physical activities, I'm also a fairly decent

As an engineer, I've found that most of engineering is algebra, geometry, and trig. Because of this, my grasp of math is very strong. I also started teaching probability and statistics and I believe that this is very important because our world is all about data and understanding how data works is vital.

My bachelor's degree is in mechanical engineering and I earned the title of EIT--the first step to becoming a Professional Engineer.

I think I teach in a fun way. I taught my high school seniors probability and statistics by teaching them how to play Texas Hold'em Poker. I've also shown my class Anime and used that as a lesson. Students I've taught SAT Prep to have increased their college readiness. Reach out and we can schedule some lessons!

I earned my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and afterwards, I was able to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and earn Engineer in Training status with ease. I did well enough in school to be accepted to a master's program in sustainability and environmental engineering and then a PhD program in sustainable transportation engineering. In addition, for two years, I taught engineering at the middle and high school level, followed by 2 years of teaching robotics which requires control of mechanical and software concepts.
