I find my greatest joy in helping students to turn from an "I just can't do this Math!" to knowing with confidence "I can do anything I set my mind to accomplish!" When the Aha! light bulb flashes and the smile lights up faces, I know I have done my job well. I am an outstanding Math tutor because I have been blessed with the ability to communicate my own Math understandings clearly. If a particular strategy is not working for a student, I search for other strategies until each student reaches the needed mastery of concepts and skills. I love my subject, and though I would not call myself a genius in Math, what I do know, I am able to explain to others. It is a combination of content knowledge and the ability to teach it to others that has fueled my success with students.
