Hi, I'm Aaron! I'm a mathematics major with experience tutoring students at University of Denver. I've primarily helped students with calculus concepts such as integrals, limits and derivatives.
Math teaches you some VERY important skills, which is why I personally want to encourage more people to learn it. Memorizing information that you can use later, trying multiple solutions to a problem, and correcting your mistakes are just some of the reasons why math makes you a better person in your day-to-day life. Plus, once you know how to solve a math problem, you can use it to solve future problems, so everything you learn is connected – just like in real life!
If you’ve had people tell you you’re not good at math, I can tell you from experience that’s just not true! I struggled greatly with math classes in middle school and high school, getting a D in geometry, and eventually improved with the help of a tutor. I then studied from textbooks and watched lectures outside of class and became highly proficient in Algebra and Calculus concepts. I believe strongly that anyone can improve their math skills with hard work and a good enough tutor to guide them. If I can help even a few people who are struggling with math realize their own potential, that’s mission accomplished for me.
I received A+ grades in Algebra and Precalculus, getting a 700 on the ACT math test and 720 on ACT reading and writing. I also received perfect scores in Calculus I and Calculus II. Since then I’ve gotten 100% on several Algebra and Calculus practice tests on VarsityTutors.com. Since starting at University of Denver, I've tutored two classmates in one-on-one tutoring sessions where I helped them with homework problems and explained the definitions of limits and integrals to them.
I will be happy to answer any questions you might have about my qualifications as a tutor. I also welcome any feedback or advice including (especially) from clients. I am easy to get in touch with and will answer any feedback or requests for tutoring within 2 hours of receiving them.
