I'm fairly new to tutoring but enjoy the pursuit of learning and enjoy the aspect of helping students achieve success. During college I would help out fellow students in chemistry and science related subjects. During high school I was enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program focusing in Chemistry and Mathematics. During college, I started out as a Chemical Engineer and then decided to switch to Chemistry at the end of my junior year, ultimately graduating with a Chemistry Degree. I believe that these two aspects give me adequate qualifications to become a successful tutor. I have always had a knack for chemistry and mathematics and am willing to pass on my knowledge to others that are looking for help.

I had great teachers in high school that have taught me everything there is to know about algebra. Furthermore, I have taken Calculus 1-3, differential equations, and trigonometry in college as well as having experience in engineering and economic classes working with mathematics.

Again, I had excellent teachers in high school teaching me three and a half years of chemistry. Going to college I have had several classes in chemistry including Organic Chemistry 1-3, Physical Chemistry 1-2, Biochemistry 1-2, Analytical Chemistry 1-2, Thermodynamics 1-2, Kinetics, Distillations, Heat Transfer, Mass Transfer, and Inorganic Chemistry. I currently work as an chemist in an analytical department.

Please feel free to contact me at any point in the day and I will respond as quickly as I can. I look forward to helping you in your future studies.

During high school I was involved in the IB program at Palmer HS in Colorado Springs which covered three years of chemistry. This experience in high school helped me obtain my B.S. in Chemistry from SDSM&T and I am now working as a Chemist for a gold mining company in their analytical chemistry department.

Trigonometry

During high school I was involved in the IB program at Palmer HS in Colorado Springs where I emphasized my schooling on math and chemistry taking higher level classes in both subjects. This helped me when I enrolled in engineering school as a Chemical Engineer, taking math classes including Trig, Calc 1, 2, & 3 and Differential Equations in addition to applying math to my engineering classed. At the end of my junior year, I decided to switch my major to Chemistry, ultimately ending with a B.S. in the field. My chemistry classes I took include Gen Chem 1&2, Organic Chem 1,2 & 3, Inorganic Chem, Physical Chem 1&2, Biochemistry 1&2, as well as Analytical Chem 1&2. Currently I work as a chemist in the analytical chemistry department for a gold mining company.

Fitness

During high school I was the captain of my football and wrestling team for the 5A Colorado Division. This helped launch my fitness career. In college I played DII football for two years: the first year I redshirted and the second year I was injured; this injury caused a end to my football career as I decided to focus on school. Over my many years I have participated in several sports and fitness activities including track and field, baseball, basketball, football, wrestling, weight lifting, rock climbing/ bouldering, cycling and running. These activities help me become well versed in most aspects of fitness. In college I took Biochemistry I & II as well as Anatomy which helps bring a scientific aspect to my fitness methods. Furthermore, I use several resources from fitness forums and podcasts in order to stay up to date with the latest trends.

Football

Was captain of my high school football team as an outside linebacker. Played for two years in DII at SDSM&T as an outside linebacker/defensive end. The first year I redshirted and the second year my tibia was injured causing me to ultimately end my football career and focus on school.

Knows Chemistry!

Teaches better than the teacher at school. Shows the steps and how to solve chemistry problems. Easy to understand. I learn more in 1hour of tutoring than I do in class.

Excellent!

Grant was great! He was very patient and thorough. He provided several examples and multiple ways of visualizing/thinking about the content which I feel will continue to help me how I approach my class.

Easy going and learning

I was in a dark place with this 11th grade Honor Chemistry issue. After having a single class with Mr. Grant, today we were, at school, starting with a new lesson and was able to understand most of it thanks to the base provided By him.

knowledgeable and patient

Mr. Grant has been teaching my kids for a little while. They love the way he teaches. He gives theories and methods, and lets the kids involve in resolving the problems by themselves in order that they can really understand what he taught and apply to practice in the real world. He is a great tutor with math knowledge and a great deal of patience.
