I'm a science teacher and former field biologist, with a focus in biology. And I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Biology at Houghton College in upstate New York, graduating with Honors.

During this time, I also worked as a teaching assistant for general biology and general ecology courses. From there, I earned a Master's Degree in Fish and Wildlife Biology and Management at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. While enrolled in this program, I worked as a teaching assistant for college-level genetics and animal behavior classes, and was the lead instructor for two herpetology courses as well.

I decided I much preferred the classroom to crunching numbers in a lab, so I'm currently pursuing my teaching certificate and a Master's Degree in Secondary Science Education at the Relay Graduate School of Education. I have a real passion for education and for the sciences, and would love to be able to help you out.

I have worked as a teaching assistant in general biology, general ecology, genetics, and animal behavior courses for college students. I was a lead instructor for a Herpetology course for two years at SUNY ESF as well. I will be a certified secondary science teacher in the state of Colorado as of July 30, 2017.

Please don't hesitate to reach out! I'm excited to share my love of science and set you up for success in your classes.

Subjects

Science

Botany,

Botany

In undergrad, I took an extensive field botany course. I also worked extensively with wetland vegetation mapping while working at the Thousand Islands Biological Station, first as a technician, and later as a graduate assistant. This work required me to learn how to identify several hundred plant species. I earned a Master's Degree in Fish and Wildlife Biology and Management.
Genetics

Genetics

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Biology. While working on my Master's degree, I worked as a teaching assistant for a general Genetics course. I was responsible for all laboratory lectures, which closely followed the material covered in the classroom. This class was geared toward college sophomores and juniors.
