Wittenberg University (Psychology)
I am an energetic 24 year old with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a University Minor in Spanish/Latino Studies. I have a diverse teaching and tutoring background ranging from Spanish, ESL, and Psychology to dance and yoga. I had 8 years of Spanish schooling, including university studies and one year of intense Spanish immersion experience in Mexico City that boosted my fluency in Spanish.
I love tutoring because I have a strong passion for education and believe that tutoring can have immensely positive influence in the learning process. I love teaching and tutoring small classes and one-on-one because I believe every person learns differently and that should never be ignored. Special attention to learning style while tutoring can boost aptitude and performance in school. I love to help accommodate and encourage everyone's different learning styles!
I taught English for a year in Mexico City and I learned great tools and skills in how to adapt teaching activities to different learning styles.
I have both schooling background and real-life immersion experience from my year in Mexico City. This allows me to be a more well-rounded teacher/tutor of the language because I teach grammar skills, practical vocabulary, and cultural information. I teach with methods of practicing both written and verbal skills which sets a stable foundation for future learning.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions and interest! I love to tutor individuals of all ages and backgrounds! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a bachelor of arts degree in Psychology from Wittenberg University. I was a supplemental instructor for Psychology 100 class for one academic year. I also took AP Psychology in high school.
I have eight years of experience learning Spanish in a classroom setting, including a University Spanish/Latino Studies Minor. I lived in Mexico City for one year after graduating college, so I gained great fluency in the language. I also taught English classes there which, in turn, helped me better learn how to teach Spanish.
