I am trained in many different reading programs including Lindamood-Bell, Wilson Reading System, and Riggs (Orton-Gillingham), to name a few. I have also taught writing for many years, from parts off speech and grammar to outlining an essay to editing and revision techniques.

I know how hard it can be to learn, and how much that struggle can impact a student's experience with learning. The greatest moment, as a teacher, is when the system of the written language or numbers starts to click.

The best...

The best part of Zac's lessons with Sarah is that he looks forward to them! He is learning and having fun! Sarah is awesome!

Homeschooling help

Sarah kept Zac engaged and having fun! So glad that we found her. Homeschooling has been a struggle. It has been difficult for Zac to transition into school mode while at home. Sarah was able to keep Zac focused and on task while also enjoying his work!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Sarah has been great with my 2 kids. She has built rapport and trust. I can already see new bits of confidence in both of them in their literacy skills. Talking to the kids about their literacy has been less of a struggle as they have built some successes.

Sarah makes learning fun.

My son struggles with reading and can sometimes be difficult to engage. Sarah had no problem keeping his attention. He really enjoys the one on one attention and he doesn't dread working on his reading. So far, we a thrilled with Sarah and hoping that this is his year.

Going well

My 12 y/o son has had a few sessions so far and he enjoys it. He was reluctant to have a tutor, but he said "It's kind of fun". He is working on math and spelling with Sarah. He is diagnosed with dyslexia and Sarah has specialized training for dyslexia students. Sarah keeps it fun and interesting for him and explains things in a way that works for him.
