I am passionate about all things related to literature and language, and to be able to share that love with others is an honor. I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature with honors and am currently pursuing a graduate degree in English Language and Literature.
I am a former high school English teacher; I taught World Literature, British Literature, American Literature, and Creative Writing. Additionally, I have tutored students of all ages, from elementary school children to juniors in college, in subjects ranging from library science, ACT preparation, reading comprehension, and writing skills. My teaching and tutoring experiences instill in me a love for teaching others, they also taught me invaluable advice for reaching students in effective and inspiring ways.
I attended ACT preparation camp in 2011 where I learned priceless test-taking strategies. I made a 30 on the reading section of the ACT and a 34 on the English section. I worked hard for those scores and developed my own strategies in addition to using taught strategies to help me achieve those scores.
Additionally, I have over 500 hours in experience tutoring a wide range of students, varying in age, background, and academic standing.
I believe I have a lot of information and strategies to share with students concerning reading, writing, and test-taking skills, and I can't wait to have an opportunity to do so.
