I love math but more than that I love when I can change someone's mind about math. I hear over and over phrases such as; "I can't do math", "I don't have a math brain", or "I wish I could get math". I have good news, those statements are not true. Anyone can be good at math, it just takes practice and someone to help you make connections in a way

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am a professor of mathematics at MSUDenver

I have a Bachelors degree in theoretical mathematics.

I have a Masters degree in applied mathematics.

My masters defense was on what constitutes an eigen-system when dealing with fourth order tensors.

I have a particular fondness for chaos theory.

I have taken and passed both undergraduate and graduate linear algebra courses. For a project in the graduate linear algebra course I developed an algorithm for finding generalized eigenvectors, and the Jordan-canonical form of a matrix. Two of the courses I teach on a regular basis have chapters devoted to matrices.

I am a fourth degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, (testing for fifth in November 2016). I have a First dan (degree) in Hap Ki Do. I coach for a Tae Kwon Do's poomsae (forms) team. I hold a level one referee certificate for poomsae competition. I was the 2012 state champion in weapons forms. I have also studied Pinjack Silate, Jujitsu,Tai Chi, and Tabimina.

For my undergrad degree I did an IDP (independent learning) in which I mixed my aptitude in math with my love of art. I designed a minor centered around Leonardo Da Vinci and how math and art are two sides of the same coin. I was required to pass the painting 3 course.
