I'm currently finishing my Ph.D. in Writing at the University of Denver. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Hampshire College and an MFA-Creative Writing from California College of the Arts. I love to work with students on their college admissions and academic essays, helping them organize and articulate their experience and knowledge. My teaching experience is as follows:
• Over five years tutoring in one-on-one sessions with students on essays, including two years at DU's Writing Center and two at California College of the Arts
• Taught College Admissions Essay Writing Workshops with Academic Study Associates at the University of California-Berkeley
• Taught classes in Writing at the University of Denver
I currently teach classes at Lighthouse Writers Workshop in Denver. Writing is my passion, and I love to help others improve. My sessions are centered on the student's needs. Each person, I believe, has his or her own path to improvement. I respect this process, the student's unique intelligence and abilities, utilizing his or her strengths to create exemplary work. In my spare time, I read and write, play guitar, listen to music, and enjoy Colorado's beautiful landscape.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
