I grew up in Germany and went to high school and college in Missouri. At Drury University, I studied elementary education and in the process found that, actually, adult basic education was her passion.

I graduated from Drury University in 1981 and continued to take graduate credits in curriculum and instruction/adult education. During that time I worked as a children’s librarian and child care center director.

In 1990 she got I earned a position working with native and non-native adult learners at Rolla Technical Institute in Missouri and shortly thereafter shifted exclusively to non-native academic English language learners at the University of Missouri, Rolla.

Since then, I moved to Denver and continued to work in college-bound international students at both Colorado School of English, New America College, and Emily Griffith Technical College. I completed a certificate in teaching English as a second language in 1999 and recently completed another TESOL just to stay up to date.

I enjoy supporting students on their way to their personal and academic goals and has kept in touch with many of them for over 10 years. I am pleasant, funny, and has a great amount of expertise in teaching grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading and writing. I have reached a point in my career where I am capable of enjoying one-on-one tutoring and online teaching where I can give each student my full care and attention.

I currently live in Lakewood, Colorado with her husband, 2 teenagers, 2 dogs and cat. And I am making plans to move to the mountains where she will continue teaching online and in the Alamosa, CO region.

The IELTS tests primarily determine if a person is capable in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the English language. The different tests focus on either academic or life and workplace skills. These are the skills which my education (including a certification to teach English) and 20 + years ESOL teaching experience primarily deal with. In addition to these skills, I have prepared many students for standardized tests with savvy testing strategies and critical thinking. I generally begin students with a diagnostic practice test, move on to targeted lessons and practice then re-test both discreet skills and abilities within the testing format. Fun times!
