My name is Gregg, thank you for taking the time to view my profile. For a long time now I have heard people talk about how math is difficult or how it is something they "just weren't born with". Good news for you, that is not the case. It just takes a good translator to help navigate the waters of a new language as complicated and overwhelming as Math. That is what my goal here is to do.
Three things about me. First, I am a returning college student. I have completed Math courses up to calculus 1 and tutored calculus 2 and 3 as well as differential equations and advanced algebraic analysis. Second, I run a football group here in Denver, we have over 700 members and it is going great! It's not all books for me, I value my physical health as well. Lastly, my goal with school is to finish my BS in psychology and enter the neurology program at Anschutz medical campus. I also plan to finish my Ph.D as well.
My tutoring experience involves students from the ages of 7 all the way to their 50's. I have taught college level courses and helped students learn remedial education. Learning comes down to figuring out how to get someone to relate the information to their lives and giving them the tools to use the information again. It's more then just reiterating what is told to you and showing it on an exam or homework.
I look forward to working with you. My honest belief is that we can all learn math. It is one of the purest languages and the most helpful.
There isn't arguably a time that math is not in our lives. Whether it be when we are unconsciously calculating our movement as we wake up, all the way to figuring out our place in the universe. Math is our guiding tool. The most important part is that we understand the basics and how we get to the more advanced parts. We can never succeed later without a firm grasp on how we began.
If you made it down to this, I hope you send me a message. If you have any outstanding questions please feel free to get in touch with me. I will do my best to respond as soon as I get the notification. Now, I am human and sometimes I will make mistakes even if I try not to, so please let me know if something I said or did or anything of that matter has displaced you, I will do what I can to resolve it or explain my reasoning behind it. Communication is fundamental to the growth of everyone. My name is Gregg, thank you for taking the time to view my profile. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
