I taught at North High School in Denver for four years in the Engagement Center. I am proud to say that, along with a team, I helped build a program for over-aged and under-accredited high school students. Some were English Language Learners who were not equipped to handle the rigor of high school. Also, some here gifted and bored with school all together. With every student, we managed to meet them where they were and get them closer to graduation and on track for a successful life.
Now, I work at an engineering firm in Broomfield, CO as the external digital communicator. I am in charge of writing content for the external website, social media, press releases and more. Because of the explosion of digital communication, I am also tasked with education other communicators and employees of best practices for social media, event participation and more. I am happy to teach lessons to your child about communications because it is important in any career.
My undergraduate degree is in Communication Studies and Mass Communication & Journalism from the University of Iowa. I received my secondary teaching degree from National Louis University in Chicago, IL.
Previously, I was a nanny for a wonderful family in Boulder. I was responsible for an infant and a very gifted three year old. I have also spent many years coaching gymnastics of all skill and age levels.
I have lived in Colorado for 7 years (5 of those in Denver). Now, I am located near the Mile High Stadium and am happily married. My complete professional portfolio is available upon request.
I taught students who struggled with English (grammar/writing/research) for four and a half years. I am certified as an ACT instructor and taught this class for one semester. I excel at teaching nonfiction writing, and I can assist with social studies essays and other subjects as well. Also, personal statements for college entry and scholarship essays are my passion as well.
Contact me for homework assistance, ACT prep or college admission documents. I love explaining complex concepts in a way all can understand. I work 8 - 5 in Broomfield and am happy to meet after at a coffee shop or your home. Thanks much! Hello,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
