I have over 30 years experience teaching young people in public and private schools from grade 2 through 12. I am licensed in Mathematics (7-12), Elementary Education and Special Education Generalist (ages5-21) in Colorado. I have taught in urban and suburban school districts, and I have tutored students from the 3rd through 12th grades in mathematics, reading and writing. I have had much success helping students who were struggling with school because I like and respect young people and have a flexible approach to learning. Additionally, I help students find their individual learning style.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am licensed as a Special Education Generalist and I have worked with ADD/ADHD students for over 20 years.
I worked for a website teaching Common Core standards for mathematics grades 3-8. Additionally, I have worked with students in mathematics teaching the standards for grades 6 through 8 for over 15 years. As a special education teacher at the high school level, I helped my students pass the graduation standards tests in Minnesota, Virginia and New York State.
I have over 10 years working with students with learning disabilities as a special education teacher. I have successfully worked with elementary, middle school and high school students with dyslexia by helping them to develop their individual learning styles. Additionally, I am licensed as a Special Education Generalist in Colorado.
I am licensed to teach Elementary Education (k-6) in Colorado. I have worked with special education students form the primary level. Also, I have several years experience tutoring elementary students in mathematics, reading and writing.
I have taught elementary, middle and high school students in classrooms for over 30 years. Embedded in all of my classes were study skills. I have also taught learning disabled students classes specifically in study skills, teaching them a variety of ways to problem solve, and how to excel in standardized tests.
I have played tennis for over 40 years. I also coached a high school state champion tennis team in Virginia. Now, I play regularly and I still take part in various kinds of tennis drills.
