As a business owner, I managed my company's accounting using QuickBooks Pro, QuickBooks Enterprise and QuickBooks On-line.

With over 15 years of experience in Project Management I can not only help you with the Microsoft Project tool, but with Project Management methodology as well.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

General Computer

I have worked with computers for almost 40 years - from personal computers to mainframes, from Windows to Unix. I obtained my Associate's degree in Computer Programming (yes a long time ago) and then my Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Management. I can help you with computer software as well as hardware.

Microsoft Access

I owned my own company for 13 years and personally built Access databases to transform large amounts of customer data on a monthly basis. I have also done extensive work in Oracle and SQL Server databases, so have a thorough understanding of relational databases and SQL.

Microsoft Excel

I regularly use Excel for tracking and reporting and have for over 20 years. I can help with the following:

> Creating workbooks with multiple worksheets
> Importing text and csv files correctly into Excel
> Using basic and complex functions such as SUM, LOOKUP, CONCATENATE
> Creating pivot tables
> Creating charts and graphs

Microsoft Outlook

I have used Outlook since 1992 when it was released on Windows 3.0. Over the years I have changed my use of Outlook from just an email tool to an organizational tool. I use many advanced features of Outlook and continue to informally teach my colleagues about the use of Outlook and its advanced features.

Microsoft PowerPoint

I regularly use PowerPoint for creating presentations and have for over 20 years. I can help with the following:

> Creating a presentation from scratch
> Modifying an existing presentation
> Selecting the appropriate layout and theme
> Using templates and masters
> Creating text blocks
> Including notes, pictures, charts and clip art

Microsoft Project

As a working project manager for over 15 years, I have used Microsoft Project for the last 10 of those years. I can show you how to create a project plan from scratch or modify an existing plan. The more advanced features I use include manual and automatic scheduling, leveling and custom fields. I can help with basic or complex project plans. My largest project plan to-date was for a 3-year software implementation project.

Microsoft Windows

I began working on PC's when MS-DOS was the operating system! I have used Windows in my professional and personal life for over 20 years. Having been a user of MS-DOS provides me the advantage of a deeper understanding of how Windows operates. I've also worked on various other operating systems such as Unix.

Microsoft Word

I regularly use Word for documents and have for over 20 years. I can help with the following:

> Creating/modifying a document
> Setting up/modifying orientation, margins, sections, headers and footers
> Using fonts and styles
> Using tables
> Using revision tracking
> Inserting charts, pictures, clip art, shapes

QuickBooks

I owned my own company for 13 years and personally managed the company's accounting using QuickBooks. I initially setup the Chart of Accounts, then setup Vendors, Customers and Employees as needed. I entered bills, paid bills, generated invoices, entered receipts (payments), generated statements and reconciled the back account. I can help with a initial setup of QuickBooks or focus on any of the above areas.

SQL

Throughout my over 30 year career in Information Technology, I have architected, developed and maintained SQL Server, Oracle and MS-Access databases. I can help with basic or complex SQL statements including complex joins, nested select statements, and use of functions.
