“**Graphing of sine and cosine**”

I am a recent PhD graduate from CU-Boulder in electrical engineering. I actually have a full-time position but always found teaching to be my calling and so, here I am.

I've been tutoring pre-calculus, Calculus I, college algebra and high school level math since my undergraduate years at Wichita State University. I've been a

Michelle was able to clearly articulate the nuances of graphing of sine, cosine and tangent, as well as graphing their inverse functions in a way that was easy for my daughter to comprehend. She walked out of her tutoring session feeling positive and comfortable about the trig content.

Thanks Michelle! Passed my class with a B! All the pre tests were A's and B's! Will definitely use you again for calc!

Great person to talk to. She has very good suggestions on how to study assigned content. Great person as my daughters tutor.

Test Preparation:

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am a PhD graduate in electrical engineering and I have tutored college level calculus and algebra for about 5 years.

I have had experience tutoring college algebra during my undergraduate and graduate years to college freshmen. I am also a PhD graduate in electrical engineering and have been a TA for several upper classmen classes.

I have tutored business calculus and calculus I during my graduate school years for almost 2-3 years. I usually tutored in a group setting, which allowed more feedback from students and most importantly allowed students to learn from each other. I may not have all the integration techniques by memory but I believe that it is not just pure memorization that will get you through calculus. I think that it is important to understand the concepts and applying the concepts consistently (i.e. doing exercise problems and asking questions).

I encounter a wide variety of day-to-day physics problems as my work as an engineer. Undergraduate degrees in engineering require both Physics I and II coursework, which I have passed. I have tutored Physics I as well as Circuits I in college for engineering students. My current method is ensuring the student has a firm understanding of the fundamentals by questioning them and doing some light problems. Moving to harder questions will be next after ensuring understanding.

I have been a tutor for college algebra classes, mainly for college students during my undergraduate and graduate years (almost 5 years tutoring). Although I have not much experience with younger students, teaching college level students have taught me to respect students regardless of age.

Being a PhD graduate in electrical engineering, I understand the importance of having a firm foundation in calculus. I have tutored both pre-calculus and college level calculus during my graduate years at CU-Boulder. I have the experience and patience required to teach students who are in need of help.

Although I have not specifically taught trigonometry, I have (roughly 5 years) of experience in teaching algebra and calculus, especially at the college level. I will bring the same patience and thoughtfulness into teaching trigonometry as I will in other maths lessons.
