About Kristin

I am a former communications executive who now offers tutoring services to all ages. I have a bachelor's degree in English Literature and a master's degree in English with emphasis in creative writing.

I have raised three kids, helping them with their studies along the way; all have graduated from college and lead successful lives. I am a patient and kind person, maternal and non-judgmental. I believe every child has gifts, and I love working with children to help them reach their potential.

Reading and writing well are important foundations for most every other subject. I will give your child the tools he or she needs to be accomplished and feel confident - whether in elementary school or high school!

I am available every weekday after school hours as well as on weekends. I can tutor your student in your home, or he or she can be brought to mine in Cherry Creek where I offer a quiet space at the kitchen table. A one-hour cancellation notice is appreciated on appointments.

Thanks for considering me,

Kristin

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Public Speaking

I have spent my career as the Director of Marketing and Communications for both non-profit and for-profit organizations. My current job, as Director of Marketing, Communications & Humane Education for the Dumb Friends League, required me to speak on behalf of the League to media and the community. I also gave presentations to staff and volunteers on a variety of subjects related to animal welfare; my classes were often said to be the best the team had experienced while working for the League.

In addition, I have mentored leadership, peers and my own team members on best practices in presentation and speaking.
