I am passionate about many things in life, and teaching others about classical music is at the top of the list. I am a working professional singer, and I am a firm believer that you must have a solid foundation if you want to achieve your goals. My specialty is working one-on-one with students to help them improve their vocal technique, sight reading skills, musicianship, ear training, and music history knowledge. I have a bachelor's, master's and many years of experience under my belt and am well equipped to help with general music appreciation as well. I love all types of music, and if there is a need to explore genres besides classical, I can guide my students through them, too.
Whether students are aiming for a professional music career, or are exploring the beauty of classical music as part of their education, I will develop an individualized tutoring plan to help students reach their potential.
While I have a 24 hour cancellation policy in place, I certainly understand that sometimes things happen that are out of our control. In those cases I will work with each student to schedule a make up lesson when possible. I prefer to tutor out of my home, but may be able to make other arrangements if necessary. I look forward to having the chance to work together!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a bachelor's and master's degree in vocal performance. In my education, I have taken over 12 semesters of sight singing and music theory. Because I am also an active performer, I use these skills daily in my professional life. I believe that a solid foundation of sight singing and music theory make a complete performer, and incorporate it into the lessons for all my students, regardless of their experience.
