Experienced English language arts teacher wishes to help students to help themselves by mastering the English language. Having taught at the public high school, college/university and adult education levels, I can assure students will be exposed to proper grammar, writing, speaking and listening skills. Formal and informal strategies will be employed with emphasis on lifetime learning...permanent, not temporary...use of the English language. The language usage will be applicable, not only in our tutoring sessions, but in all classes in which the student is enrolled -- written assignments, reports, term papers with proper grammar, spelling, syntax and meaning.

I look forward to hearing from interested students and parents.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
