Hi. My name is Stuart, and I'm a tutor for Wyzant. I have a B.A. summa cum laude in History from Loyola University of Chicago, and an M.A. in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While at Madison, I taught Spanish to undergraduates (mostly 18 year olds) for two years. I have also tutored in Spanish since then. I love both Spanish--well, languages in general--and history, and I believe that love comes out in how I teach/tutor subjects to students.
I was born and raised in Chicago, but have spent the entire second half of my life here in the Denver area. I make my living as a writer/editor, and am the coauthor of five published books. Perhaps you might enjoy reading one of them sometime--after we do our Spanish or History lessons, that is.
Learning should be a fun/enjoyable experience. Let's accomplish that together!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
