I am a PhD with years of teaching, research and publication experience. I have been teaching both full and part-time for a number of years, and to all educational levels. I have one book out with two more on the way, as well as professional editing experience. I am currently working part time at the Denver Art Museum while working on several new publications. In addition, I do volunteer work for History Colorado providing family programs. I live in Wheat Ridge and have reliable transportation.
I have also worked outside of the classroom at the National Archives in Washington, DC. In addition, some years back I served as a docent on Wendella Boats in Chicago, Illinois. I provided architecture tours and the 90 minute "Lake and River Tour," describing the history of Chicago in addition to providing amusing anecdotes about the city. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
