University of Colorado Denver (in progress) (Master's)
I finished my degree in Physics (with minors in math and German) at University of Colorado Denver in the spring of 2014. Since then I have been teaching physics labs for the same university. For me, math is too abstract without application so I try to give everything you do in math some physical meaning. Once you have some idea of what you are doing with the math it tends to make the application easier. In physics it all hinges around developing a systematic approach to any given problem. With practice the method becomes natural and the problems much less intimidating.

James has been working with my son for 2 lessons and really gave him the breakthrough he needed for Calculus and Physics. My son looks forward to the sessions. Great investment!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
5 years tutoring experience
I took a course in Linear Algebra at UCD, and also pursued matrix and tensor methods in physics while developing my understanding of quantum mechanics and particle physics. I did an independent study with one of my physics professors, in which we worked through most of a graduate level particle physics text. This involved a significant portion of matrix solutions to differential equations)
I have a BS in Physics, and I have five years of tutoring experience; and I have 3 years physics lab instructor at university level.
