“**Great job explaining concepts!**”

Hello!

My name is Caroline, I'm a certified teacher in math for grades 5-12 and have knowledge in many other areas. I have 3 combined years of tutor and teaching experience. By teaching students one-on-one I can easily assess the student's needs. I believe that using many different approaches to teaching is necessary to help every

My son said when Caroline left that if he had Caroline as a teacher, he would be getting an A in chemistry. She is very good at breaking down the concepts into terms that he can understand. Thanks for your help!

Caroline is whip-smart, warm and incredibly gracious--within 5 minutes she had built a great dialogue with my math-resistant son. She skillfully directed his attention to steps he'd overlook or transpose and was unfailingly patient all the while. Caroline was fast and prompt and conscientious but more than anything, you can see that your kid is smarter for the time they spend with her. Perfection.

Caroline connected very well with my son. He actually felt good about his ability to complete the assignment which is a first in a long time. Thank you!

I started with Caroline a few weeks ago--with a very low SAT score on the math section (540, yikes!). We've done countless practice tests and my score seems to be improving! She is extremely patient with my less than proficient skills in mathematics. I highly recommend if you're looking for a boosted SAT score. Will do a follow up review when I get my score!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have a degree in mathematics and education and have taken the ACT before, along with studying standardized tests. I tutored my brother before he took it and have tutored a few students both from Wyzant and the school I currently work at before their ACT tests. I'm very familiar with the subject and test, a certified math teacher, and have background in the ACT. Therefore, I should be qualified to tutor ACT math.

I have been a certified math teacher for four years now. I am currently teaching Algebra along with other levels of math at an early college. I think I could be a great tutor for any level of mathematics since it is my area of specialty, I am certified to teach it in two states, and I love helping students understand it. Therefore, I should be qualified to teach Algebra 1.

I previously worked as a counselor for a day camp for elementary school students. While doing arts and crafts, I incorporated basic math concepts to fulfill an educational requirement of the program without having a traditional classroom style. I believe that with this background I could easily help tutor elementary students.

During my undergraduate, I took grad courses in elementary education extension with a focus on mathematics so that I could teach elementary as well as secondary mathematics.

I took piano lessons for six years and voice lessons for four years. I started an a cappella group in high school and joined an a cappella group my freshman year of college. I have taken sight reading and music theory classes throughout my education and have a general passion for and knowledge about music.

I lived in Japan for a little over two years. I was in the south where there was not much English, so I became proficient in the language. Along with my language skills, I also have a great understanding of the culture. Therefore, I feel I am qualified in Japanese.

I passed a linear algebra class in college with a 94 average and tutored my peers in linear algebra during my junior and senior year.

Logic is one of my favorite subjects. I have tutored it many times in college and still enjoy reading books on logic and it's applications.

I have a background in computers. I built my own desktop and installed windows myself. I maintain computers and greatly enjoy working with them.

I enjoy playing the piano and took lesson for six years. I play at home for fun and love sharing the experience of playing music.

During my student teaching, I prepared students for the math regents exam. I came into school early and stayed late to help students prepare.

I studied American Sign Language in high school and practiced all throughout college. I even went back to my high school to help out during the ASL class.

I have always enjoyed singing. I took voice lessons for years and have been singing in a cappella groups for eight years. I studied the anatomy associated with singing and would love to tutor others in this.
