Patience, understanding, great communication skills. Willing to go the extra mile to make sure all my students have a comfortable working knowledge of "how to, why I did what I did, what is my objective". It is about the student. Patience, understanding, great communication skills. Willing to go the extra mile to make sure all my students have a comfortable working knowledge of "how to, why I did what I did, what is my objective". It is about the student. I have been in the real world of video production for 15 years. I have worked for an NBC affiliate as senior technical director. I have been a Morning Show director in Vail. I have worked such events as American Ski Classic, World Cup Downhill Ski Championships, The Session Snowboard Event, Teva Mountain Game. I have worked at every level and capacity of the on mountain production. Having a working knowledge of complete system interconnects, troubleshooting, camera operation, audio mixing just to name a few, I can pass on knowledge you would never get in a classroom. I am a firm believer that if you do it hands-on you will remember it faster with a better understanding of why.

I have work at an NBC affiliate in Flagstaff AZ. I worked all positions up to senior technical director National news editor for the 5, 6 and 10 o'clock live newscasts. I have been a morning show director/ technical director in Vail CO "Good Morning Vail" a 3 hour live broadcast. I have been an ENG/EFG videographer. I have years of freelance experience working such events as ISF World Cup Downhill, The Session Snowboard event, American Ski Classic and Teva Mountain Games. With eefHD productions, I have edited and produced numerous video packages, also commercial production work. My passion today is a venture called Time Vault Video. Videotaping elderly, terminally ill individuals and editing together a video and burning a DVD so family members have a keepsake that lives on. I am always involved in production work. It is my passion. Video production entails a wide range of topics. It can be summarized with pre-production, production and post-production. Each of these 3 areas have multiple areas to be looked at. Pre-production entails a through knowledge of the primary purpose of the video, evaluating and prioritizing concepts with an SME (subject Matter Expert). Consideration of production location, equipment needs, shot selection, will it be a voice over or will it be a talking head. Production is the actual shoot itself. Staging and setting up equipment. Camera filters, mic levels, lighting, white balancing on shoulder, tripod--this is where it all happens. This is where you have to make sure you refer back to your pre-production concept and get all the footage you need and then some. Post-production is where it all comes together with non-linear editing styles. Where to edit, what type of edit, this is where your pre-production and production steps come together. This is where your project comes to life. Having an understanding of editing styles, continuity, jump cuts, shot selection placement, you will be learning about timing very detailed work at this point. This is where creativity of the project comes to life.
