College of Economics - Warsaw, Poland (Economics)
Thank you for your interest in learning the Polish language. I was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland and lived there until I was 37 years old. I can read, write and speak Polish fluently since that is my native tongue. I received a bachelors, masters, and began pursuing my doctorate degree before I came to the United States in 2005 to marry my husband. I knew English before I arrived here and have been working to improve my English since then.
I am excited and very interested to teach my native Polish language to anyone who is interested. I love Polish history and culture. In fact, ever since I arrived in the United States I travel back to my homeland during the summers with my son. I have a number of teaching aides but most importantly I love to teach authentic Polish and see students learn. I admit I don't have a lot of experience in teaching the Polish language itself but my academic training, I believe, has prepared me well to pass on what I know. Language books, tapes and videos are helpful tools in studying a language but can never replace the one on one feedback you receive from a real person.
Thanks again and I look forward to helping as many people as I can to learn Polish.

Marta is a very good tutor who is flexible with scheduling and material covered. She will tailor her lessons to you as you need. I highly recommend her.
As a true start-from-scratch student of Polish, I really appreciated Marta's patience as it's taken me a while to learn the pronunciation and remember what the sounds are. She took the time to explain each word as we went, which helped give a richness to the exercise and gave me a jump start on vocabulary. I'm really enjoying working with her!
Thank you very much,
I worked with Marta for one lesson but had to stop because my company cancelled my business trip to Poland. She was patient, and immediately adapted the lesson as she learned my own strengths and weaknesses. I will definitely continue lessons with her once my trip is rescheduled.
Marta found the right content for my current language skills level, and provided appropriate exercises for pronunciation and sentence comprehension. I appreciated her patience and determination to get me to say the words correctly.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am excited to teach Polish to anyone interested in learning the language from beginners to those with more advanced ability. We can start with any books/materials you would like or I have my own suggestions. I am fluent in reading, writing and speaking Polish as it is my native language. I obtained a Masters degree in my native Poland and moved to the United States about 7 years ago to marry my husband.
