Hi there! My name is Tiffany. My last name is a little difficult for some people, so I am known to my students as "Ms. T." I just moved to Colorado from Illinois, and I'm dying to get back into a classroom. Until my certification comes through, I would love to help tutor students that need some extra help in their English classes. Sometimes it takes just a little more explaining to grasp some of the concepts that we learn in our English classes. Whether it be grammar, reading, writing, proofreading, or studying for the ACTs, there's always another way to review the information in hopes of developing a better understanding.
As an English teacher, I am a strong believer in the fact that English can be fun. I'm not going to go as far as saying that it always IS, but it definitely has the potential to be. Too often, students see writing a paper or reading a book as punishment. I would like to take this opportunity to show you that it shouldn't be a painful process. I want to help you understand the concepts well enough that you don't struggle with them in addition to the new material you are learning about.
I have taught English in 8th, 9th, 10th, and 12th grade classrooms. I have also had experience in teaching lessons based solely on preparation for the ACTs. I have a very strong passion for English and Language Arts, and would love to help anyone struggling to understand it. Hi there! My name is Tiffany. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
