Note: If you are at the edge or beyond my travel radius, I would be willing to consider tutoring via Skype, Google hangout, or similar application. I also offer group rates.
I'm an adjunct English instructor with a master's degree and 8 years of teaching in public schools, 7-12 grade math certification in CO & AR, tutoring since 2004, and former mathematics competitions (MathCounts and MCTM).
I have taught Algebra 1, 2, and 3, and Geometry. I made A's in high school math courses, such as: Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Accounting. I also did well in college math, such as: College Algebra, Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, and Probability and Statistics, to name a few. I can show you how to use a TI-83, TI-84, or TI-85 graphing calculator. I am less familiar with TI-89, although I could help by explaining it. I have also recently become familiar with the TI-iNspire. I use technology a lot in my day-to-day activities and in my teaching. If you are looking for apps and websites to help supplement the tutoring, let me know what you're looking for. I've probably already put together that list.
I'm not your average math person, either! I make my own soap--it uses more Chemistry than you would imagine, but I think it's fun (and then I also have usable soap out of the deal). As the KosherSoaper, I am familiar with both the hot-process and cold-process methods for cooking soap. Etsy offers me a chance to share and gather other ideas for my soap. (I enjoy cooking food, too!) Another way that I'm not your average math person is that I have a bachelor's degree in English, am working on a thesis on folk tales for a master's degree in Liberal Arts (English), read Biblical Hebrew (and Old and Middle English), speak French and some American Sign Language (or ASL), play multiple flutes and Appalachian dulcimer, am a good test taker, and learn new technologies easily. I have taken the PLAN, ACT, PSAT, GRE, and Praxis teachers' tests for 7-12 mathematics. My ESL students have taught me some about how much French and Spanish are very close, so while I wouldn't offer myself as a Spanish tutor, I can sometimes still communicate on a very basic level in Spanish.
I have also helped my own children with their homework--reteaching where my son with ADHD needed it. Don't get me wrong! My kids have had AWESOME teachers! We all need to hear it again sometimes, and sometimes we need to see a different explanation or a different way of thinking about it. My oldest child is in 8th grade (as of 3/2015).

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

For nine years of teaching, I have helped students with tools to become more successful students, such as how to keep up with their schedule or calendar and important events, how to study to retain information (including free available apps to help them study), and how to deal with test anxiety in a way that doesn't let it disable the student's abilities.
