I am an experienced middle school, high school, and adult education math teacher (18 years) with loads of experience tutoring on a one-on-one basis, also. I have passed the math portion of the GRE exam with a perfect score and can help you get the best score possible! My graduate work is in architecture and design.
I believe you should ENJOY the math you are studying -- at least as much as possible! In addition, I feel my strength as a tutor is working with students who have had an uncomfortable experience in the past or have a bit of anxiety when it comes to math and its complexities. We deal with "test anxiety" in particular. This can be a very real obstacle for a great many people. Donna has been one of the most helpful tutors I have ever worked with. She comes fully prepared with materials to every single session then caters each session following to your specific needs. She is patient, understanding, and has an ability to explain different problems pertaining to each individual. She follows up usually after each session to ensure you are working towards your goal. She is warm hearted, kind, very positive about life in general, and truly cares about your success. Donna is genuinely not only a great tutor but a wonderful human being. Book her ASAP!
My daughter should do this review! She has nothing but positive feedback about Donna. She has been a wonderful teacher and support during My daughter's junior year. She has been able to reach out as needed and Donna has been so responsive.
Donna was a great tutor to give me a kick start on my GRE Prep. I will be using her for awhile!
Met with Donna today and she is absolutely wonderful. She was very patient with understanding what I know for the math portion of the GRE. She was also very kind, easy to communicate with, and knowledgeable. I am taking the GRE in a few months and I know I will be more than ready if I keep meeting with her!
Donna is helping me with the GRE exam. She has scored a 100 percent on the math portion and she is helping me master these same skills. Donna is also helping me with the verbal part and has recommended a site to help me learn the roots of words.
Donna was great. I met with her for several weeks to prepare for the math section on the GRE. Not only does she know her math, but she really understands the GRE and how to do well on it. She came to every session prepared and was willing to do a little extra just to help. She was easy to get a hold of and schedule. I have no complaints and highly recommend Donna as a math tutor.
Donna was prompt and she did a great job helping my son prepare and review for his CP algebra 1 final.
He said that she was very patient and explained things very well. One of Marqus' issues that he needed clarification on was word problems. He wasn't understanding how to set up the equations to complete them correctly. After the tutoring he said that he understood it so much better. And he felt more confident and he is ready to take his final on Friday.
Madison really likes Donna. She takes the time to go through everything completely and makes sure that Madison understands before moving on. It will really help her in school.
Donna has been a gift for our teenage daughter who thought she wasn't good at math. After just a few tutoring sessions, Donna has been pivotal in showing my daughter that she does have the skills and can master new challenges. Donna is calm and positive with an easy going vibe that is just the right level for a teenager. Her patience, ability to explain things just right, and kind encouragement has meant the world to my daughter and increased her math skills and self-esteem in general. We look forward to having this tutoring relationship with her for as long as possible!! We are so fortunate to have found her!!
Great tutor! Very patient and knowledgeable. Answers emails quickly AND texts. Easy to get along with too. She is now working with me (adult learner) and my teenage daughter.
Donna has been very flexible in scheduling sessions, is very responsive over the phone and email, and my daughter found her extremely prepared and able to make concepts clear in a quick and very effective way.
We are planning to use Donna's services in the future: she's just the kind of tutor we needed!
Donna is a great tutor! She has been tutoring my 9th grader in Algebra and is very patient with him. She is also extremely reliable and punctual to all of our sessions!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught Algebra 1 for many years to middle and high school students. We have worked on applications and how this relates to things in real life. I realize that Algebra is a big step up from the math many have worked at previously with great success. Now they may be struggling a bit and losing confidence. It's usually quite easily remedied with help!
When I took the GRE I got a perfect score on the quantitative section and scored in the 99th percentile! I have taught these high school subjects for a number of years so I'm very familiar with the content and format of the test. In the past 2 years I've tutored a number of students who raised their scores to what they wanted.
