Hello, I'm looking forward to working with you on a variety of subjects ranging from Earth Science to Photography. I have two Bachelor's degrees, one in media production and communication with a minor in photography and the second in Earth Science education with a minor in Geography. I love Earth Science and the natural world and feel that understanding the natural connections that surround us is a critical component of what it means to be human. There is something cool about being outdoors and understanding what is around you. I love to teach and feel my strongest asset is my ability to explain complex ideas in a way that younger minds can grasp. More specifically, I feel that I am able to relate these ideas to kids daily lives. I'm originally from Michigan and have worked as a substitute teacher for two years before deciding to pursue a degree in education. Last year I completed my student teaching and had an absolute blast working with kids in my Earth Science classroom. In my spare time I teach snowboarding up at Loveland Ski area, and like to play soccer. I look forward to helping you reach all your academic and personal goals. Thanks.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am very familiar with creating multimedia presentations in PowerPoint with an emphasis on clean, eye-catching displays. Throughout college I was often complimented on my eye for design and layout of my presentations.
I graduated from Northern Michigan University with a minor in photography in 2004. I have sold a few of my photographs to clients including an Indian Motorcycle dealership in Marquette, MI and a local brewpub in Grand Haven, MI. Although I do have extensive experience working with film, most of the work I do now is done with my digital SLR. I have a solid understanding of how to properly expose an image to create emphasis on the portions of the image I feel are most important. I also understand how to compose a shot in order to grab and hold a viewer's attention. Additionally, I understand how and when to use various filters including: ND, GND, RGND, and polarizers. My specialty is in landscape photography. For some of my images, please visit: http://the-one-track-mind.blogspot.com

I have a Bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University in Media Production and Communication. I have produced several videos as part of that degree using both Final Cut Pro, and iMovie. I understand the importance of storyboarding when editing, and how to make a film that is both professional in appearance and fun to watch. My specialty in this area is in the production of action sports films.
