I've had the good fortune to experience a variety of students with different levels of comfort and motivation in Mathematics. Mostly my years centered around high school subject matter, with extensive experience on higher level courses such as AP Calculus A and B, PreCalc, Trig, Statistics, Algebra 1 and 2, and Geometry.
Beyond the classroom, I am the proud father of a daughter, currently an engineering student at CMU, and a son, currently a senior and a multi state champion motocross racer. We love the western Colorado life style and enjoy dirt biking, climbing, skiing, hiking, etc. I have spent summers as a builder and am completing our family mountain home near Paonia.
I have both a BS and an MS in Mathematics. With much pride, I claim many years of the majority of my Calculus students passing the AP Calc exam with 4 or 5s. I was not gifted in Math in high school and understand the struggles many students face. I have learned many methods and styles to successfully aide students through their sometimes formidable struggles and lead them to success. Mostly, I can heartfully say that my students know how much I genuinely care for them and their success.
Please feel free to contact me for a consultation and let us determine if I can help you become comfortable, confident, and successful on your mathematical journey. I have grown to love the beauty and utility of Mathematics and invite you to learn and grow in this incredible subject. My schedule is currently quite flexible and I am able to travel. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
