Winona State University Winona, MN (History)
My passion for teaching comes directly from my thirst for knowledge. As a product of a public school and university, I know firsthand the difficulties and hardships students face. Throughout my education I was extremely grateful to have such passionate teachers/educators, who I could rely on for assistance. It was their passion and methodologies that first interested me in a career in education. As someone pursuing a career in education, I want to continue to build on those experiences while providing a unique and wonderful experience to many different students.
During my time at Winona State I had the opportunity to co-coordinate the History Club Department my last two years. As a co-coordinator I politely volunteered to tutor fellow students in a variety of history courses. In doing so, I was able to help students understand broader themes and provided them with ideas to improve study habits. The most important thing I enjoy about tutoring passing knowledge to another individual. Their is nothing more rewarding than seeing an individual meet their full potential!
I graduated May 2013 with a B.A. in History from Winona State University.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
At a young age baseball has always been a passion of mine. I started playing baseball at the age of 3 and continued playing throughout high school and even at a collegiate level. During my high school career I was fortunate enough to standout as a top-rated pitcher and was awarded 1st team all conference honors my junior and senior year. In college I pitched for a Division II junior college before having to end my career due to shoulder surgery. Also, in 2008 I managed the summer recreation program in Lansing, IA where I coached baseball/softball ages 3-13.
I am an overall history guru with an emphasis in World History. I graduated Winona State University with B.A. History in 2013.
