I have been teaching Spanish Language and Literature for 32 years. Of these, about 14 years have been at the high dchool level. I have taught all levels of Spanish at the High School level, including Spanish I, II, III, IV, V, AP Spanish Language and AP Spanish Literature. I have also designed several courses for my school. One of these is a class for the native speaker of Spanish. Another is an advanced conversation class for students who want to continue in Spanish but not necessarily study advanced grammar structures.
Since every student has a different learning style, I like to use several teaching strategies in my teaching. These include, listening, reading, speaking and writing exercises for visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners. I give outline notes to students and then check to be sure that they understand them and can apply them when they are at home on their own. My students can reach me by email for additional help when they have questions.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a PhD in Spanish. I have tutored English as a Second Language both at the high school and at the university levels. I learned English grammar at a private Catholic high school at a time when diagramming sentences was being taught, so I have a great command of English grammar.
Even though I have never taught English literature, I have extensive experience teaching Spanish literature. I have taught all literary genre to AP high school Spanish students who are preparing for their national exams. My students normally score 5, which is the highest score one can earn on this particular exam.
I have a PhD in Spanish and a high school teaching certificate. This has allowed me to teach all levels of high school Spanish. It has also prepared me to teach Spanish at the university level which I have done for 17 years.
